I'd actually almost forgotten there was a Buffy/Angel mention in this. It could just as easily have been Buffy/Spike (I'm pretty neutral on the whole Spuffy/Bangel thing, I mean we all know Buffy belongs either with Faith or Clem, right?) but I loved the idea of Spike trying to talk Xander into starting a band... "C'mon, nothin's easier than playin' bass! If that ponce McCartney can do it you bloody well can too!" Oh well. Like you say, not a huge part of the story.
