Sometimes Giles stayed overnight at the library. Long hours of research and trying to keep the world going and what have you.

“You know what they say about vampires and a public school library,” Buffy argued. “I don’t wanna find your insides scattered all over your dusty books. Get your research on at home, where it’s safe.”

So, tonight, upon a persistent demand from his slayer, he decided to treat himself to a home cooked meal and catch up on some reading.

Turning off the lights in his office, he noticed a crossbow Buffy had forgotten on the table. He put it back in its place inside the book cage. If it wasn’t for that tiny shift, Giles wouldn’t have noticed the figure huddled in the corner. With a squint, he was able to make out Xander’s sleeping face in the dark, half hidden under a thin blanket.

A long pondering stare before he headed back to his office, turned on the lights and seized a book.

Sometimes Giles stayed overnight at the library.

"Probably" since, well, nobody's quite sure if they can trust their memories now that there seems to be worldwide amnesia pandemic. Trying to keep their heads cool while everyone around is losing theirs, Dawn and Faith take some of the last Slayers on a roadtrip trying to find a cure.

She's spent so much time trying to pinpoint where it started that she's not even sure of what it is she's not sure of, what's memories and what's just things they've repeated enough times. Memories aren't supposed to be perfect, she keeps thinking. People forget stuff every day. How do you know when you start forgetting things for real? Buffy was always absent-minded, was Dawn supposed to notice when the whatchamacallems got more frequent? If they'd noticed earlier, could they have done anything differently, could they have -

A crossover with the Flaming Lips song "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Part 1" (lyrics). You don't need to be familiar with the song to read it, though a certain awareness of Japanese monster movies helps.

OK, this was ridiculous. Dawn was eleven and a half, she was a big girl, she knew perfectly well that stuffed toys weren't alive. Only little kids believed in monsters in the closet. And only really weird little kids believed in evil, demonic, fluffy pigs in the closet. Still, best to make sure.

It (whatever "it" is) rains a lot in England. It probably has to, with all those lakes. She learned about the water cycle in science class: evaporation, condensation, trepidation, precipitation, etc. It's perfectly natural, but still hard not to find weird after growing up in a desert. Something inside Willow is insisting against better knowledge that things should stay where they are, what they are. Water in the sea, clouds in the sky, plants on the ground, alive people alive and ... all that stuff.
