Note: Really the whole point of this fic is to attempt to fix Xander’s reaction towards Jesse’s turning, which I was never satisfied with. So here goes :). 

But the thing in front of him just laughed. And laughed coldly. It wasn’t the usual Jesse chuckle, or J-man grin. It was a callous, echoing cackle, that filled his ears, seizing them and it wouldn’t let go.
