This month's theme on [livejournal.com profile] still_grrr is the Elements - mediaeval rather than the periodic table. This week was "Earth", which made me think of something in William's story which we are told about but never see.

Word Count: 1,300
Characters/Pairing Drusilla, Darla, Angelus and William

X-Posted on my own journal. A short little tale I did a few years back.

Title: Mrs.Cuddlesworth the Vampire Slayer
Summary: A tale of a past Slayer in the Buffyverse
Rating: PG
Notes: Originally written as a sort-of background story for something I was planning in The Buffybot Adventures, but not directly related to anything in that series. Any knowledge of that series of stories is not at all necessary. Approx.2400 words

Title: Hiywan's Story
Author: stormwreath
Character: the First Slayer, before she was a Slayer

Summary: "I have no speech. No name. I live in the action of death. The blood-cry, the penetrating wound. I am destruction. Absolute. Alone." Hiywan's Story gives the First Slayer back her speech and her name, and allows us to hear about the beginning of her life-story in her own words for the first time.

Rating: 12
Wordcount: 24,274 in 8 chapters.
Notes: The story takes place in the Great Rift Valley of East Africa at the end of the Mesolithic Era (or Middle Stone Age), approximately 8-10,000 years ago. Obviously enough, all the characters (apart from the girl who will one day become the First Slayer) are therefore OCs. *g*

This link goes to an index page, which in turn links to each of the eight chapters and also contains a glossary of character names and background details that you can refer to if you need them.

A bunny bit me tonight, but I can only hope I'm not utterly out of my depth on this one.  I didn't even try to get into dialect, but Joss never seems to worry about such things.  It should be okay.

Disclaimer: These characters belong to a clever fellow named Joss Whedon.  He isn't me.

Setting: Buffyverse Tennesee, circa 1840.

IN THE BEGINNING…

Of course she’d always known something was wrong. Now, standing at her husband’s grave, staring down at the coffin where her flowers lay, she went through all the things that had happened, that had shown her the way things were – if she’d only opened her eyes.

Full knee-deep lies the winter snow,
And the winter winds are wearily sighing:
Toll ye the church bell sad and slow,
And tread softly and speak low,
For the old year lies a-dying.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson

The snow is piled in mammoth drifts and Spike staggers along amusing himself by taking deep breaths and watching his frosty breath emerge in plumes.Read more... )

Christmas had come and gone and Dru was bored. All her pretty presents had been opened. The new dresses had been tried on and admired, the brooches and earrings fondled and spun through the air, the soft woolen cloak dyed the color of old blood already worn. It was December 27th and Spike’s Dark Princess needed to be entertained.Read more... )

BLOWING IN THE WIND....
A short fic set in 1969 when a young girl sets off from Sunnydale for her first music festival....

Disclaimer: ME owns characters. I own the plot.

“Man – look at all these people – like – wow!” Suki-Star – her real name was Sarah, but how old was that! - stared in wonder at the swarming masses, sitting, standing, lying in abandon on the Woodstock mud.

Sheila Lieberman was struggling to unpack the little tent she’d carried all the way from where their last lift had dropped them. She was just seventeen and this was the first time she’d been allowed to spend a few days away from home. Her parents thought she was with Suki and Suki’s thought their daughter was staying with the Lierbermans.

Sheila was very unhappy at having to lie, but man, she was seventeen now. An adult. And what on earth could happen to her in the middle of all these people? Love was what life was all about. Making friends, saving the world, down with War.

The 69er is similar to a drabble, except you only get 69 words for your story. Titles don't count but long ones are frowned on. No summaries or other introductory information allowed (except ratings).

The 369 is an expansion on the 69er. Three 69ers that share a common theme or subject. Each 69er has to stand completely alone, and each has its own title. The entire 369 has a title as well.

I offer you a 369er. Blame it on [livejournal.com profile] myfeetshowit for the inspiration given by the wonderful 369er she posted last year in her LJ.

Good and Evil drabbles by [livejournal.com profile] myfeetshowit
Characters: Two minor characters we never met on the show.
Summary: A couple of years ago, I became obsessed with the idea of showing the shape of Spike through his influence on other people. Several other people on the BA_Gutter Yahoo group joined in, and we came up with about 100 unique drabbles, if I say so myself. These were two of the first that I wrote. Two people--one influenced by evil Spike, one by good.
Rating: PG

Summary: Pre-Series-late 1800s. Evil Spike.

I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. I want my mommy. Vigilante
Summary: Post Soul-Purpose. What happens to people that Spike (or Angel for that manner) save from the monsters?

I lie all the time now, which is funny because all the adults think I’m finally telling the truth.

They tell me they’re only concerned about me, that I have to give up my fantasies and face the truth. I know their real concern is preserving their own fantasies, making me believe in the lies.

They don’t want to hear that yellow-eyed monsters killed Lisa; that bloodied fangs carved the scars on my neck.

They don’t want to know why I date boys jazzed with punk attitude, with rough, scarred knuckles and piercing, blue eyes, who make me feel safe.

Prompt: Mea Culpa
Confessional

The sound of weeping drifted through the open door, up the stairs towards the woman huddled in the corner of the darkened bedroom.

“I’m sorry, Father. I tried to make it stop, truly.” Drusilla rocked rhythmically against the headboard, clutching her rosary tighter, slipping each blood-slicked bead through fumbling fingers as she prayed. “Through my fault.”

In the drawing room below, her mother held the body of another daughter close, sheltering her from further onslaught from the beast that had ripped out her throat. The child was torn from her arms, tossed aside. Tears turned to screams.

Mea máxima culpa.”

Hello * waves*

Just joined the community and decided to post an old fiction of mine.

It's a one shot William piece written for the William Ficathon a while back. In fact it's the only challenge fiction I've ever written :)

Anyway, enough of my yabber, the fic is here.
