Thanks kindly, I discovered last night, that maybe, the experience of paring down a story, rather than try to create every little detail, might have begun to leak into longer fics. I was trying to write a new one last night, and can recall thinking to myself, "you're talking too much."
Quite fascinating, really. We'll see how this develops, but I'm actually feeling hopeful about it.
