Summary: In which the nightmare continues for both Angel and Spike.

Previously on Soul Searching. So far, Spike has resisted the temptations on offer from Drusilla, Wolfram and Hart and The First. Willow has pinpointed Connor's whereabouts, our heroes are splitting forces. Wesley, Willow and Lorne are decamping to a 'safe house' courtesy of Whistler's contacts while and Angel, Spike, Buffy and Illyria head off to find Connor. When last we heard from her, Drusilla was preparing for a very special party.

Buffy scribbles down a note to her mother. Writing down her emotions isn’t second nature to her but talking about them hasn’t been either. But, she knows that her mom doesn’t want her around, her dad didn’t and he didn’t even know the truth.

She gets onto the bus, the driver narrows his eyes at her. She sees it on his face, that she’s just another girl running away, or trying to become a somebody in a city that will engulf her. “You ever been to LA before?”

“No.” She might as well starting lying before she gets to LA.
