A Knight's Tale

In the makeshift chapel hidden in the narrow city back street, a lone knight keeps vigil on this, the eve of his calling. He kneels, broadsword clasped between his hands, his head bowed.

“If this be my destiny, grant me a sign.” He raises his eyes to the niche containing a plaster angel, lays the blade across his palms and offers it in service to the unseen entity ever present in this sacred place.

The door behind him swings open; a voice, carried on the wind, speaks.

“Behold Drogyn, Demonbane Truthsayer, I name thee 'Keeper of the Deeper Well' hereafter.”

Drogyn!Fic! I loved Drogyn and wanted much more of him. He's such a fascinating character and Alec Newman is just wonderful as Drogyn. I loved him in Dune (a lot more than I loved Dune), so always happy to see something written about Drogyn, and this is excellent.

Why thank you. I love writing 'minor' characters and using them in longer fics. Because we've seen so little of them and there's so little given 'canon', we have the bare bones of a character to flesh out and develop.

He's due to appear in the next chapter of my WIP (which I have yet to start posting here) and plays a major role in the 'end game'.
