A Knight's Tale. Drogyn

Written for [livejournal.com profile] bogwitch's birthday January 2006

A Knight's Tale

In the makeshift chapel hidden in the narrow city back street, a lone knight keeps vigil on this, the eve of his calling. He kneels, broadsword clasped between his hands, his head bowed.

“If this be my destiny, grant me a sign.” He raises his eyes to the niche containing a plaster angel, lays the blade across his palms and offers it in service to the unseen entity ever present in this sacred place.

The door behind him swings open; a voice, carried on the wind, speaks.

“Behold Drogyn, Demonbane Truthsayer, I name thee 'Keeper of the Deeper Well' hereafter.”

Ooh. I could see this so well. Excellent choice of details.

Heh. I was just opening gmail to ask you whether one of my drabble series was gen enough. It does have pairings after a fashion, but is most definitely not romantic.

I was planning on posting Miss Kitty (or at least the first chapter), and Spike in Wanderland (not to be confused with The Vorpal Blade).

I thought I would start with a drabble or two first since I'm about to take off for the day, and probably won't be able to post anymore until late this evening.

Yes, I can see it happening like that. Good job.

That's one of the reasons I felt the details were so well chosen. The drabble is so atmospheric but we are getting information that just flows with the story.

*flails*

Drogyn!Fic! I loved Drogyn and wanted much more of him. He's such a fascinating character and Alec Newman is just wonderful as Drogyn. I loved him in Dune (a lot more than I loved Dune), so always happy to see something written about Drogyn, and this is excellent.

You know, I don't think I've read much Drogyn fic at all. I think, for me, he's one of those characters that never got to sink in enough. Though, for some reason, I won't forget Numero Cinco . . . Anywho, I like it! Nice use of details.

Very interesting.

Well, LJ ate my first comment so let me try to remember what I said. LOL

I haven't seen any Drogyn fic before and it is a welcome change. I always like to see the minor characters represented. Great word choice too since you do have so few with a true drabble.
