People for the Humane Treatment of Demons, Vampires and Werewolves.
It has come to our attention that a sector of our rich and varied species here on earth are being victimised by a body known as the Watchers Council. Using misguided young women as vigilantes to kill, especially vampires, who we feel are unjustly persecuted by this body.
They maintain that demons, vampires and werewolves are dangerous to humans, but it has been brought to our attention that there are methods of making vampires and werewolf’s safe and useful members of society. That these measures are known to the group, and have been used, in the case of one vampire, twice, causes us to think that they would rather kill than try an overcome the affliction these creatures suffer from.
While some demons are dangerous, and should be treated with up-most concern, some are quite harmless, and even do good acts. Therefore the destruction of demons should be handled with full respect to there rights. Concern has been expressed that without better knowledge of these rare creatures we may lose some useful and industrious members society.
It has also come to our attention that demons can interbreed with humans, and produce children who can have perfectly normal human lives, which maybe destroyed if labelled demon, and these mercenary young women where to come into contact with them.
In the case of vampires one Angelus was cursed with a soul over 100 years ago, and is now used as a further method to kill, while the spell to curse him is known, and was successfully carried you by a young trainee witch while still at high school, would indicate that this method of control of the harmful effects of vampirism could be used at a wider level. Indeed we have even heard that the young woman, who is cited as killing the most demons and vampires, has killed vampires who are newly risen, and have never killed anyone.
It has also come to our attention that another vampire, a William the Bloody aka Spike, also has a soul, and is known to the core group, with the rather childish name of ‘Scoobies’, yet as far as we know, none of them made any attempt to understand how he got his soul, or research whither this method could’ve been used on others.
In the case of werewolves, the core group didn’t kill them, but imprisoned them without respect to their wishes three nights a month. This is an infringement on civil liberties, and the young man concerned had harmed no-one. This happened again later to another werewolf, a young woman, in L. A., while they may have been a danger to themselves and others, measures should’ve been taken to look for alternatives. The young man took his own research and found a way to control his wolf incarnation, and is no longer a danger. Yet again the core group knew about this successful mission and its outcome, but made no attempts to investigate the matter for other cases.
Our concerns have heightened with the seeming increase in numbers of seemingly enhanced young women around the world fighting these misunderstood and persecuted groups. We charge that more research should be undertaken to help them control their undesirable behaviours, and help them conform to societies norms, so they might lead productive lives, such as the two vampires and young werewolf seem to be doing. That the vampire Angel was at one time the head of a law firm would show that this could be beneficial to mankind.
We hope you heed our plea to help protect these sadly misunderstood creatures, and help them lead a normal life with minimum intervention. We need to research the methods by which to help them, and ensure that it is more widely known rather than let these misguided manipulated girls destroy such rapidly endangered species.

Date: 2007-01-29 12:57 am (UTC)I can see why the council wouldn't want to muddy the waters, and cause their slayers to hesitate, worrying that they were possibly killing a good guy.
Still, it would have been interesting to see them at least bring up the issue at some point.
